Thousands of people signed up for 'Ireland's largest water fight'... Here's how many showed up
BACK IN JUNE, a Facebook page was set up for an event titled ‘Ireland’s largest water fight’.

Around 17,400 people claimed to be interested in the event, due to take place in Killiney last Bank Holiday Monday.
A spate of similar events have been taking over Facebook recently – last year, ‘Movies On The Beach’ and a ‘Giant Pillow Fight’ got thousands of people to sign up, but neither seemed to come to pass.
This time was a bit different. A (small) portion of those interested in the event actually showed up to Killiney Beach on Monday, armed with their Super Soakers.

Vicki Ceriani was there – she told DailyEdge.ie that around 20 adults and children had a ‘water war’, despite the rotten weather:

“Although for just an hour and with 20 people it was great fun,” another attendee wrote on Facebook.
That’s the spirit!
